I’m a self-proclaimed introvert and an accountant by trade, with a love for horses, homesteading and all things that make life a little simpler. Life in the city has been full of opportunities but deep down, I’ve always dreamed of a life rooted in the countryside. So, this blog is where I’m documenting my journey from city to farm, from sidewalks to soil, and from the office to open fields.

As much as I have enjoyed the opportunities and amenities of urban life, my heart has always been drawn to the peace of rural living. Growing up on the farm has instilled in me an appreciation for fresh air and wide open spaces. Now, I’m gradually working my way back to that lifestyle.

While I may seem like a bit of a contradiction – a number-crunching accountant who dreams of dirt under her nails – I’ve come to see that there’s harmony in balancing both.

This path hasn’t been easy with obstacles, anxiety and dreams that require God to move mountains (Matthew 17:20). That’s where the garden, baking and time with horses come in – they’re the little pieces of homesteading that I’ve managed to bring into my city life, helping find peace in the here and now. Gardening has become my retreat and therapy, an my weekly equestrian lessons my connection to the rural life – an escape from the stresses of city life.

On this blog, I’ll be sharing my steps (and missteps!) as I move closer to this dream. You’ll find my thoughts on urban gardening, budgeting tips, homesteading experiments, and the ways my faith supports me through it all. My hope is that if you’re reading this, you find encouragement for your own journey.

Grace and peace to you!
