This year being the first year that I planted more annual flowers (cosmos, zinnias, calendulas, African daisies and marigolds), I wanted to try seed saving. The marigolds seem to be quite successful and abundant (even after I sort through all the petals). There was one flower where the seeds were a bit green on top yet.
The calendula seeds look quite green still despite leaving the flowers on the plant to dry. Hoping that some of them will dry in the bowl and turn brown in colour.
My attempt at collecting seeds from my zinnias and African daisies has yet to be successful. The seeds don’t seem to be mature enough with a hardened shell. Thinking these won’t be viable for planting next year.

Will be attempting to harvest the cosmo seeds this week as well. Hoping that these will go better as they saw more bees this summer.
It has been a learning experience indeed!
Any seed collecting advice?
Grace and peace,
Jo
