Hi everyone! It’s Jo here! I’m raised on a Saskatchewan farm, and now navigating life in the city while working my way back to the countryside. This blog is where I document my journey toward building a homestead, balancing faith, budgeting and learning along the way.
Growing up, the farm was my home, where I learned the value of hard work and the beauty of living close to nature. While city life has given me new experiences and opportunities, my heart has always longed to return to my rural roots. Now, I’m on a mission to reclaim that lifestyle, one step at a time.
Here on the blog, you’ll find me exploring everything from planning my future farm, learning about homesteading, horse care, and gardening, to how my Christian faith guides and stengthens me through the process. I’ll also share tips on budgeting and how I balance all of this with city life.
This is a space for anyone dreaming of a slower, more intentional life, whether you’re in the city or already out on your own piece of land. Let’s walk this path together – learning, growing and building a future rooted in faith, family and the land.
“For nothing is impossible with God.”
Luke 1:37
Jo
Welcome to Grace Between the Fields! I’m Hannah and I’m working towards my dream to build a homestead while letting my faith guide me throughout my journey. Being able to document in this blog is a wonderful tool as Jo and I learn about our dream while working towards it.
Similar to Jo, I was actively involved in the family farm when I was young. After a few years in the city, I realized I had outgrown the city and wanted to go back to my rural roots. Unfortunately, it was not as simple as moving onto an acreage and going for it. Today I have a vision and plan to make this dream a reality.
Over the past year, I have learned to slow down and live a more meaningful life, including my faith, family and friend relationships. I strive towards feeling calm and grateful for each day. My stories on this blog will include my trials with gardening and fixing up my backyard. I began a journey of clean eating and the blog will incorporate this in the preserving food and various recipes.
