This growing season, I had a bountiful potato harvest of 3 whole potatoes. Worst part: this harvest came from two seed potatoes.

This past winter, I learned about planting potatoes in giant pots and bags. I loved the idea of saving space in my garden and I didn’t want a large potato harvest. I definitely got more than my wish!
Out of all my flowerpots, the potato pot had the fullest, best looking plants. I figured this meant a good potato production. I didn’t do much with the potatoes other than plant them and water during May. In July, there was plenty of moisture from Mother Nature. The only time I lost confidence in my potatoes was when it was time to harvest.
If you have any advice on what I can do better for next year as I’m aiming to double my potato harvest, I welcome any ideas. In the meantime, I will be making the most delicious boiled potatoes that will last likely only one meal.
With calmness and grace,
Hannah
